I’m Back!

CaseyWyatt_DeadGirlsDontCry800

I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. It’s hard to believe but I’ve been “blog silent” for close to a year now.

But why, Casey?

It’s been a busy 11 months for me. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

I finished the third re-write of Over Easy. I pitched it during Fiction Fest 2015 and received requests from agents and editors. During late fall, I also sent out a flurry of queries and, yay, received requests for the full manuscript.

Sadly, even though there was interest in the story, I haven’t sold it yet. Oh well, that’s the nature of this business. Also, the agents/editors who took the time to read my manuscript provided me with useful feedback which is a step farther than I’ve gotten before. It seems like a defeat but it’s really not. In the past, I used to get no response at all or just robo-emails saying, “thanks, but no thanks”.  So, yeah, receiving feedback is a great sign of progress. Go me!

On top of that, believe it or not it’s been four years since Mystic Ink was published by Soul Mate Publishing. MysticInk (1) - CopyHappily, they wanted to keep the book for a little while longer. Plus, there’s a smokin’ hot new cover (by Fiona Jayde). Nice, right?

In the midst of all this, something else major happened. Jupiter Gardens Press decided to close shop. As a result, the rights for The Undead Space Initiative have reverted in full to me. That meant I needed to take action, not only on that book, but I also needed to get off my keister and write another book in the series. Oh, and I also decided to rebrand the first book as Dead Girls Don’t Cry  (available August 18th) and indie pub the remaining books in the series.

So guess what? I am near first draft completion on book 2 Dead Girls Don’t Sing. No release date yet, but I can promise that the cover is fabulous (more on why I say that, below).

And if that wasn’t enough to do, I needed a crash course in DIY publishing.

I hired a cover designer which led me to The Killion Group, Inc. I heartily recommend her and here’s why.CaseyWyatt_DeadGirlsDontCry800

Isn’t this cover fabulous?

She also formatted the print and ebook too. With their assistance, the book is ready for pre-order on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks. The print copy will be coming shortly as well.

Whew!

But wait, there’s more. I will be doing a virtual tour with Bewitching Book Tours in August, details to follow some time soon.

And, some day soon, my blog will be receiving a reformat. In the meantime, I hope you like the mini-facelift and new logo too.

Yes, I’m back. You’ll be hearing more about what else I’ve been doing (like two panels at #CTConn2016) but I’m saving that for another day.

If you like my blog, please sign up for my mailing list too. And, as always, you can find me on Facebook.

Stay cool!

Where Oh Where is Casey?

LachlansCurse_850

I swear, I’m not missing.  I’ve just been writing like crazy after some much needed time away.

I’m currently re-writing Over Easy (this is the third time). But that’s not why I’m posting today.

Today, my sixth novel was published.

Lachlan’s Curse is on sale now! If you’re a fan of Sleepy Hollow, druids and romance, then this book is for you. If it’s not your thing, but you know someone who might like it, please do share! Thank you!!

LachlansCurse_850

For over two hundred years, Lachlan Gray—druid and last magic wielder of his line—has kept Haven Falls safe from an ancient evil. His sacrifice, eternal imprisonment with his mortal foe, was meant to protect the town and people he loved. After his bones are unearthed and his enemy is accidentally freed, he has no choice but to rise again. Confronted with the modern world and the loss of everyone he knew, he finds solace in the one person who trusts him the least.

Archaeologist Dr. Sara Winslow believes in truth, logic, and cold, hard scientific facts. Hiding from a painful past, she’s more comfortable with ancient history than dealing with the living. The dead can’t lie, cheat or betray her. That is, until she unearths the one skeleton capable of resurrection. Now, she can’t ignore the truth right before her eyes—magic exists, evil is real, and it’s coming to destroy Haven Falls.

To survive, Sara has to trust this sexy stranger and embrace powers she never knew she had. And Lachlan never imagined that a hot blooded woman would make him question his vow to destroy his enemy at any cost. Even united, can their passion survive the evil seeking to tear them apart?

Good news! I sold my latest paranormal romance – Lachlan’s Curse – to Soul Mate Publishing. It will be released late summer 2015.

This is a new story, not related to the Mystic Series. The back cover blurb says it all:

His sacrifice, eternal imprisonment with his mortal foe, was meant to protect the town and people he loved. Mystic Hero

I’m so excited. And I can’t quite believe that my fifth published book is out today. If you purchase a copy (thank you very much!), and you have something positive to say, please do leave me a review on Amazon and/or Goodreads. Every bit helps!

Thanks for all your support and kind words over the last few years!!

Mystic HeroA wise Satyr always pays his debts. Pawn shop owner Devlin Ward isn’t stupid. When Karma appears on his doorstep to cash in an old favor, he can’t refuse. It’s a simple request – accept a delivery and keep it safe. Unfortunately for Devlin, the “package” is a sullen teenage oracle who insists that he locate the Feather of Truth. Or else.

A promise is a promise. Mary Swain, aka Ma’at, Goddess of Truth, honors her word. For the first time in centuries, she’s finally free of her debts and wants a new life, preferably away from Mystic, where every quaint shop and cozy restaurant is a reminder of her unreliable ex-boyfriend. Finally, she’s leaving and nothing’s going to stop her.

But when Devlin approaches her with the oracle’s dire warning and a frazzled plea for help, she can’t resist a tempting new adventure or his quietly sexy allure. Despite his best efforts to feign indifference, she knows Devlin is attracted to her too. He claims to have deep, dark secrets that even the Goddess of Truth can’t pry out of him. Or can she?

Mystic Hero – SOLD!

288Hey everyone!

I know I’ve been quiet these last two weeks, but I’ve been busy.

With what, you say?

First, I finished Lachlan’s Curse and sent it to my trusty readers.

And second, I sold Mystic Hero (Book 3: The Mystic Series) to Soul Mate Publishing. For those of you reading the series, this is everyone’s friendly neighborhood pawn shop owner, Devlin Ward’s story.

I have no set release date as of yet, but I expect it will be Fall 2014.

In the meantime, here’s the blurb:

It’s a simple request – accept a delivery and keep it safe. Unfortunately for Devlin, the “package” is a sullen teenage oracle who insists that he locate the Feather of Truth. Or else.

That’s all for now. Time to start my next novel – Over Easy.
