Gone Fishin’

Happy Friday everyone! I’m on a much needed vacation this week so I don’t have a much to say.

Instead I offer a series of photos of my favorite places. For vacation I like to take day trips with younger son. Older son is entrenched in the teen-man cave and hubby doesn’t have as much vacation time as I do. But we don’t mind. We have plenty of fun without them.

Freeman Farm, Old Strubridge Village, Sturbridge MA
Stonington Point, Stonington, CT – This movie theater facade was added for the movie Hope Springs (Meryl Streep/Tommy Lee Jones flick).
Yankee Candle Flagship Store – Deerfield, MA

If you have a moment, I’m blogging over at the Scribes about – Decisions, Decisions.

How about you? Where do you like to go for fun and relaxation?

  1. Those pictures are great. I’d love to visit there.
I usually go to Carmel, CA and stay in a place by the ocean. It’s wonderful and so peaceful. I know a lot of people would love to go to Carme,l but I guess because I used to live there it doesn’t look as good as MA and CT.
    Enjoy your much deserved rest.

    1. I wish I was resting Savannah. I didn’t know when I scheduled my time off, I’d also have a book release, but it’s been okay. At least I’m only concentrating on writer me!

  2. Beautiful pics! I agree that day trips are fantastic. (I’m actually getting ready to load a ‘day trip’ post myself). My favorite place to vacation so far has been Nova Scotia. Unbelievably picturesque and quiet. We stayed on a farm just south of PEI so we had access to the beach. I’d love to go back someday. In the meantime, we content ourselves with the Jersey Shore. 😀

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

  3. Hi Casey. Congratulations on your new release. When I need to relax, I love to go and sit near the ocean. Watching the tide ebb and flow and the sounds of the waves run up on the beach bring peace to my soul. When I lived in CA I often went to sit up on the bluffs or sand dunes and watched the mighty Pacific crash upon the sand. Here in CT the waves are much smaller, but I still find peace there. Hope you get at least one day to relax.

    1. Thanks Gerri. I love the sound and sight of the ocean too. It comes from years of summer days spent at the shore. I’m happy to say I’ve visited San Diego and see the sun set on the Pacific Ocean. It’s one of my favorite memories.

  4. Your wonderful pictures and places put a smile on my face. Thanks. Where do I go for r&r? Well, we are going to Portugal, then to Phoenix. Just going away from the daily schedule is r&r for me. Or sitting in my lovely backyard, without the phone. Or painting. Painting is an escape, a different kind of r&r.

    1. Oh Gail, you do go to fun places. One of these days, I’m going to leave North America and go overseas. I love your paintings so I hope you chose to paint often!

  5. Love the photographs and I have some Yankee candles at home! We live on a very small Island so I guess it’s just going out for coffee, cinema, restaurants and enjoying time with friends! 🙂
